Editor Guidelines

Editorial board members are professionalized in their respective areas and play an important role to handle the peer review process of the manuscript along with editorial office staff and give recommendations on acceptance or rejection of the submitted manuscript from time to time. The publishing team from “Scientific Collegium” is thankful to all the editorial board members for their efforts, valuable time, and inputs that are provided in the process of peer review that aids to enhance the journal’s quality. Editor-in-Chief ensures that 

Ø Journal meets the requirements of the research community and is able to provide a way for scientific discussion that leads to new inventions that promote the research progress.

Ø Content of journal is meeting the needs of research advancements and  is scientifically valid.

Ø Peer review system is carried out efficiently, impartially, and timely.

Ø Journal adheres to publishing standards as per COPE guidelines.

Ø Assess the submitted manuscripts of the journal and select suitable potential reviewers and assign the manuscript to reviewers.

Ø Based on the reviewer’s report and other factors such as originality, clarity, research work validity, and comments of the peer reviews, recommend the manuscripts to accept or reject or revise.

Ø Select the editorial board members for the journal from a pool of potential research experts.

Ø For editorial progress, engage the editorial board members continually on the advancement of the journal and include the updated ideas. The editorial board can have the annual meeting for the discussions that accelerates the advancement of the journal publication.

Ø Investigate the suspected research misconduct cases as per the COPE guidelines. (unpublished or published manuscripts) if observed any or reported by editors/reviewers.

Ø Should make all efforts to do a complete investigation of any research misconduct before rejecting the manuscripts. If not satisfied with the author’s response, investigate to get responses from the institute or employers or appropriate regulatory board.

Ø Respond to complaints promptly if any, and make sure to discuss with thr publishing house if unsolved complaints.

 

Editor Responsibilities:

Ø Attract authors (established and new) and article submissions to ensure a good supply of superior-quality manuscripts to "Scientific Collegium" in more numbers that can support the journal publishing schedule. If inadequate manuscripts are being submitted, then editors should try to do the needful to address this by discussing with peer contacts for the manuscript submissions.

Ø Review the manuscripts (should deal with any manuscript) that are submitted to the journal and take decision if that manuscript is suitable for journal or not and assign two reviewers who are appropriate to the submitted manuscript.

Ø If the manuscript is not meeting the journal publishing standards such as publication ethics, terms and conditions ,etc. editors can accept or reject submitted manuscripts to the journal stating the reasons.

Ø Avoid the selection of reviewers with a potential conflict of interest such as from the same instate or department where research work is carried out.

Ø Make sure that the process of peer review is impartial and timely.

Ø To avoid delay in the peer review process and publication, editors and editorial office staff will work closely.

Ø Track the peer review process from time to time and ensure that it is of a high standard and completed within 15-30 days. 

Ø Based on the originality, clarity, research work validity and comments of the peer reviews, recommend the manuscripts to accept or reject or revise.

Ø Encourage the reviewers to give comments on the manuscript in detail which can be sent to authors if accepted or if any revisions are needed.

Ø Support the reviewers/editor(s) if any issues arise and support the editor(s) in decision making over issues such as plagiarism claims and submissions where reviewers can’t agree on a decision.

Ø Encourage colleagues and peers to contribute to the journal and use a wide range of resources to identify and propose potential reviewers.

Ø Recommend on journal policy and scope from time to time.

Ø Identify and propose the topics for special issues. 

Ø Raise the awareness of the journal to new authors and submissions.

Ø For editorial progress, engage the Editorial board members continually on the advancement of the journal and include the updated ideas. The editorial board can have the annual meeting for the discussions that help in the advancement of the journal publication.

Ø Emphasize commercial advertisement, reprint chances, if these can be the important sources for income and brings awareness about the journal.

Ø Note: One can be as Editor-In-Chief/Editor for minimum of two years (maximum unlimited time) to any journal of "Scientific Collegium" and the publishing house reserves all rights in this regard.

Ø Journal can have multiple editors if, manuscript submissions are more and not easy for one editor to handle all the submissions in all subject areas. If multiple editors are working for one journal, the manuscript may be divided among all based on specialization, geographical origin, article type, and equal division of work. Multiple editors may have various roles as per the need and publishing contact will advise and support you.
